Android 7.0 Nougat: Update News and Main Features

Android 7.0 Nougat is now official. Google's latest and greatest version of Android is currently rolling out to Nexus devices and it will take some time for everybody's devices to receive the over-the-air update.


Android 7.0 Nougat Update News

  • Samsung - Samsung maintains a two-year update window on devices, so it's safe bet to assume that the Android Nougat will be making its way to all Samsung Galaxy S6 and S7 variants. 
  • Nexus - The Android 7.0 Nougat update is rolling out to Nexus devices now, but it could take a while for the update to hit your specific device. Nougat is coming to the Nexus 5X, Nexus 6, Nexus 6P, Nexus 9, and Nexus Player. 
  • HTC - The day after Android Nougat was detailed at Google I/O, HTC announced that the new firmware would be making its way to the HTC 10, One A9 and One M9. 
  • Sony - Sony has confirmed that it will make Android 7.0 Nougat available for: Xperia Z3+, Xperia Z4 Tablet, Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 Compact, Xperia Z5 Premium, Xperia X, Xperia XA, Xperia XA Ultra and Xperia X Performance. 
  • LG - LG was one of the first manufactures to produce the Marshmallow update last year. This year, LG is going one step further: the LG V20 will be the first smartphones to run Android Nougat.

  • Vulkan TM: Games will now leap to life thanks to high-speed, next-generation graphics. 
  • Daydream: Android Nougat is ready to transport you to virtual worlds with Daydream-ready phones, headsets and controllers.
